Beware of Tax Scams - Individuals and Small Business

Happy tax payer:

As it is the start of the tax reporting season, scammers are out already targeting unsuspecting individuals, sole traders and small business.

The ATO have already received over 5,000 reports from the public at large regarding phising emails using the ATO logo as well as 3,000 separate phone calls.

These scams typically state a refund is due to you and to organise the refund either money has to be transferred overseas or your credit card details must be provided.

The ATO never do and will never ask for these details.
